UK Snow Fun

Must say thoroughly enjoyed my 3 trips out on Saturday evening. Any excuse to get out and have a play.

First impressions ... self assured and very competent when drove correctly...and a bit fruity when you put the power on

Just be careful with braking - 4wd is no help there (unless you have snow tyres!).

have to say was more confident with my snow tyres but then again, there wasn't much snow in the south...

even then, felt the tyres slipping going around the roundabout a little too quickly!

Yeah, it's been way too easy near me as the temperatures following the dump were too mild. Needs a better test!

More snow forecast for Thursday night into Friday morning followed by -9C on Saturday night (Henley on Thames nearest to me). Could provide a sterner test

Oh yeah, remove the media hype and divide that 5 by 3 at least

We've had over a 100 accidents here in Cumbria, could hardly walk to the car let alone drive it. Terrible ice...

Bought some winter wheels today. Got the style 308 runflats saving a 'good wedge' off the list price as they were left over stock. At least I'm now prepared for next winter!

I did so on 29 Feb but not on my F25 as I only just got some 18" rims delivered from Germany to use for summer. I will 'convert' my stock 17" to winter for next season.

The winter tyres used on my works vehicle definitely use more fuel but I did not notice any other differences - except better grip in the ice.
