2007 X3 3.0si Reliability

I came across a 2007 x3 3.0si with 35,000 miles. I don't know much about these models and am looking for some input on the reliability. What are the common downfalls on these models? It has the sport package/navi/xenon if that matters.

Also, what is considered a good price for this car in near excellent condition with this kind of low mileage?

Get yourself a good post 50,000 service warranty and you should be happy. My '08 has almost 100,000 miles with only normal wear-and-tear repairs like brakes and tires. It's best to check values on KBB or similar sites.

I bought my 2007 last October with 48,000 miles. It just turned 70,000 miles. The only issue I had was broken rear coil springs. Not cool, but it was a great way to justify new Eibachs. Everything else has been terrific. I like mine so much, if they still made the E83, I would buy a new one.

Yeah, my '05 X3 3.0 is doing great. Runs like a champ, no issues to report. 96k miles. Only recomendation, make sure the transfer case and F/R differential fluids are changed. There is no such thing as a 'lifetime' fluid.

What do you about transmission fluid flush at 100k? the dealer said no and a private shop says go ahead do it.

Have a PPI done before you buy. Look out for transfer case problem, cranked cylinder head, rear spring, panoramic sunroof? If so make sure it functions because they tend to break.

07' 3.0si with only 35k miles is probably gonna be around $20k if I had to guess.

I recently have come up on 100k miles my self. I called the BMW store by my house and also a local shop they both said that the fluid should be changed. So I wanted to do some inspection for myself. There is a DIY video on bavauto.com that shows you how to do it.

Cooling system failure is imminent, you should replace the entire thing (cooling system overhaul)

At 100k miles I'd put money on it. Better to be safe than sorry, but it's your vehicle

I am at 100k on my 07 x3.. What does cooling system overall include? New water pump thermostat, hoses, etc.. How much would dealer charge for that? I would be scared replacing electic pump, I hear they are finicky and can't dry out..

waterpump
upper radiator hose
lower radiator hose
expansion tank
thermostat
etc.

if your vehicle is still under warranty they should do it for you for free no? If not, I am sure they will rip you off with cost.
