I liked how Lewis put it "It's a circuit that you really feel like you're going somewhere"

Couldn't agree more.

er....

Max Chilton will race this weekend after Marussia reversed its decision to give his drive to Alexander Rossi at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Rossi took part in FP1 but will hand the car back to Chilton for the rest of the weekend, meaning the American will not make his debut after all. On Friday morning the team formally applied to change its driver nomination back to Chilton for the rest of the weekend.

"The stewards have received a request form the Marussia F1 Team to change the nominated driver Alexander Rossi (Car 42) back to their previously nominated driver Max Chilton (Car 4) for the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix," an FIA statement said. "In accordance with Article 19 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations the stewards grant permission for this driver change."

On Thursday Marussia cited "contractual issues" as the reason for Chilton not racing, while the driver's own PR company said he had volunteered to step down. Nevertheless, he will be back behind the wheel of the car for the remainder of this weekend.

Three-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Andre Lotterer, 32, will replace Kamui Kobayashi at Caterham for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.

The announcement was made on Wednesday following confirmation of Lotterer's FIA Superlicence, with the initial deal covering one race. Despite the deal Kobayashi remains part of the team.

Caterham is currently undergoing a restructure by new ownership, who had made it clear there was a possibility of a change in driver line-up in the coming weeks. Lotterer will join the team as it introduces a major upgrade package this weekend, part of a bid to secure 10th place in the constructors' championship.

Lotterer, who had numerous F1 test outings for Jaguar between 2000 and 2002, said: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to take part in a Formula One race weekend - I want to thank Caterham F1 Team for this chance. I'm ready for this challenge and I cannot wait to jump in the car and make the most out of the weekend ahead.

"I will need to get settled and used to the car quickly, as the team has worked on a number of updates and we will need to have as much time as possible out on track to optimise the car's performance. I really enjoy racing at the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, it's one of my favourite tracks and it's very close to where I grew up, so this makes the weekend even more special and one to remember."

Lotterer has links with Caterham adviser Colin Kolles having driven for his Audi LMP1 entry at Le Mans in 2009, and this season had been driving for Audi alongside Super Formula commitments in Japan. A press release announcing the news stated: "The team will benefit from having another experienced driver at the wheel of the car throughout the weekend and the German's feedback will contribute to improve the performance of the car. The weather also plays a big role at Spa-Francorchamps and Lotterer is one of the most experienced drivers racing under mixed conditions."

At 32 years, 288 days Lotterer will become the oldest F1 debutant since 37-year-old Giovanni Lavaggi at the 1995 German Grand Prix.

Who is Andre Lotterer?

German driver Lotterer has a stellar record in both sports cars and open-wheel racing. As well as Le Mans 24 Hour titles in 2011, 2012 and 2014, he won Formula Nippon in 2011 and the World Endurance Championship in 2012.

Rosberg took it to HAM fair and square today. His first Q3 lap was stellar in those conditions, popped all hope for non Benz cars and cracked Lewis as well. I like Lewis better and think he is the faster driver but today he certainly wasn't. Congrats to Rosberg!

That was funny in the beginning of Q3 when Diffey said...Oh Vettel is on a really good lap, a flyer. He put up a 2:08. Then about half a minute later Rosberg comes through at a 2:05, and the guys were like...oh ok never mind.

Announcers trying to make up drama. They need to realize, Mercedes is owning everyone and no one is going to touch them for the entire season.

Well....you've got to feel horrible for with this season.
He's driving flat out and he got screwed left and right almost every race.
For once he finally got on front row, got a great start, then one clumsy move from nico just ruined the entire day.

Had to be fair that it was a bit more optimistic move from Nico, which is not happening on lap 2 yet.
Although it looked more worse than it was, and actually happened to Nico and Lewis, it all actually boils down to a racing incident. A poor move afterall.

Booing from fans was more like the frustrations and just getting out from an exciting race. Unjustified IMO, I don't like it any more than anyone, but booing was not fair to Nico afterall.

I can also see why Lewis wanted to retire, to save the engine mileage for the remainder race. with not gaining any time with the pack, its not like the previous race that he had the pace to salvage some points.

Great job Nico and RBR to be up there always when Merc screwing themselves with a dominant car. Riccairdo is the man of the season so far IMO.

The final 2 laps scrap between VET, MAG, BUT, ALO was epic! Solid and aggressive defending from MAG on ALO.
