TMC Tuning Box for BMW X3

Hi All,

Yesterday I posted a thread about Chip Express. I didn't get one reply so obviously it's either not an interesting or popular product! Just want to do some homework on what's out there to enhance my future 35D.

I have seen the kit offered by Hartge which gives around an extra 50 BHP but costs around £2000 if you fit it yourself. This is very expensive and I cannot really justify it.

I had an Abarth 500 Turbo a couple of years ago and bought a box from a company called TMC. It was an excellent product and I can see that they do one for the X3 too. This offers similar gains to the Hartge product at a fraction of the cost, very tempted...

Has anyone fitted one to an X3?

Would appreciate any feedback

Cheers. GAJA.

I just wonder how fitting these products affects warranty claims, I would assume that any data download carried out by BMW service departments will show that the engine management system has been modified. I would hate for any legitimate warranty work to be denied due to invalidation?

Hi, thanks for reply. Hartge is very expensive compared to the TMC box, very similar output...

Apparently, it leaves no trace as it doesn't interfere with the stock ECU but works alongside it.

Theres quite a few of these around, many of them quite cheaper than 330 quid. It also seems they all do the same thing, as for the 2.0d they all claim to bring it from 184hp to ~225 for example.
