my x3 diesel 06 plate will randomly stall once or twice a week last time it happened I got the 4x4 light on,the car will restart with no problems at all ,and run fine .....I also get the e.m.l. flash on briefly when driving along the car will jump and then carry on as the light goes back out,this aswell only happens very rarely,the car runs fine otherwise......been to the dealer and there are no codes showing up.......ive replaced MAF sensor and CAMSHAFT and CRANKSHAFT sensors also the fuel filter,and the problem still persists.....any ideas fellas..

im having a similar issue, mine the x3 3.0 i tho, started by id start it and it would run then stall like 2-5 times then it would run fine the rest of the day, only did it when it was cold, shooting a p16a1 and as it got colder it got worst, now in freezing cold it starts and revs between 500 to 3000 rpm by itself and i have no throttle control then stalls, does it till it warms up completely. code is for a dme internal fault, i replaced the throttle body and idle air control valve hoping it was that because they are very common, but looks like i'm gonna be replacing the dme, idk if that helps you.

Mine was having the same problem and showed a DME RAM fault. I had to replace the DME. It's been working fine since then.

This is the first time it's happened to me in 8 years and now is happening intermittently. At first, thought it was the cold weather.... nope. Then thought to put in better gas.... helped, but nope.

Stalls when I start it up in morning and once in drive with foot off gas, it stalls. It does restart, but what is going on?
