It has nothing to do with how tight your clothes are! In my case it was other items in the pocket that pressed against the button when I bent down.

At least you don't have a Koenigsegg CCXR. That is a BIG key fob.

Reviving an old thread.
I hate these huge fobs as well. For people who always use comfort access, having something smaller , more discreet would be a big plus. Can't see why the circuitry couldn't be placed in something credit card size that could be in your wallet. Has anyone come up with some solutions to replacing the fob with something smaller? |

When I park in the morning at the my LIRR station to go into Manhattan for work, I usually put the Key Fob in my messenger bag, I am paranoid that if I keep it in my pocket it will unlock the car as the train is pulling away from the station.

You all have now made me paranoid. If I ever accidentally press the button to pop the tailgate while in the house it's going to bang right into the garage door! There's about six inches between the garage door and the rear bumper. It's not going to be pretty.

buy a BMW leather key fob case!!!!
I bought one in advance of my getting my X3 and its perfect, prevents accidental pressing of the buttons, quality product and I prefer the fact its a little bulky as I know its in my pocket.

I got a leather keyfob case from my dealer for free....
Still, I do not like such a big key. I'd rather have the slim Renault card....

Leather case
My sales guy gave me this as a gift. It does make the fob even bulkier than it already is, but it does the job.
I would prefer a slimmer and smaller fob as well.

I did something similar yesterday. Got back to my car (luckily in a secure company carpark) to find my tailgate open.
The security guard said it was open soon after i entered their building, so i must have pressed it somehow on entering. I wonder if there is a way to lock the tailgate? Similar to the valet parking key i had with the E60 (boot and glove box cannot be opened) |

My previous car had a smaller fob. But I also had to use a key with it. So this is an improvement over that.
Some mornings I'll get in the car, and can't start it because I forgot to grab the fob. I normally lock/unlock the car by touching the handle. But, I agree. A smaller fob would be nice. I get too much junk in my pockets anyway. House keys. Token to access work email. A pen. |
