You can't search only on Q5 as it's too few letters

...but since we're already here - The biggest problem with the Q5 for me is the interior. The ocean of buttons, including the volume knob is located around the shifter. Although nicely layed out, the quality of materials used is inferior to what BMW uses. The 2.0T is very loud, 'buzzy' and exhibits a pronounced turbo lag (considering the direct injection, the lag should be minimal at worst). |

It's really personal preference. I drove just about 6 luxury SUV's and the Q5 was on the top of my list until I drove the X3. It was a nice vehicle but it didn't compare at all to the performance of the X3 35i. I liked how it looked at first but now I think it is kind of plain looking. I prefer the look of the X3.

Q5 handling is bleh. either engine in the Q5 is similar performance to an x3 28i - the 35i will run circles around either Q5. For me the Q5 lost out over steering feel more than anything. I will once again use the analogy to my mother's Buick Enclave for the steering

Fairly much agree with the comments here. Although in terms of looks - in my personal opinion while the interior is probably a touch better than the X3, the exterior is bland and uninteresting and looks like any number of other mid-sized SUVs from South Korea/Japan. In contrast, the X3 - along with Volvo's XC60 - have some character about them.
But cosmetics aside, the deciding factor in our mind was the drive in terms of ride, handling and performance. Just don't like double-clutch autos. And on top of this, the X3 has better fuel economy with the diesels and (at least in Australia) better resale. Tony |

For me... the "old school" shifter in the Q5 that blocked half of the console, the extremely lower resolution and smaller nav, less powerful engine(s), and poor handling did it for me. I really liked the matte trim in the Q5 and the seat colors. I also liked the sunroof and the back seats...

I didn't even test drive Q5. The moment I saw how small Q5 is inside it went off the list. It's a great looking car but way too small for a family car we were looking for.

I thought the interior of the Q5 was nice. Not particularly better than the X3 as a lot of reviews I read lead me to believe, but still nice. The one think I really didn't like about the interior of the Q5 was the mesh sunshade on the sun roof. It was a very sunny day during my test drive and that mesh shade let in way to much light.

Yep, I'd agree that the Q5 looks better than the X3, but small interior / fiddly buttons / Audi's love for cheap chrome fittings, combined with the X3's much better performance & driving feeling sold me. Easy choice.
