Transmission - Rapid and Bumpy Gears

Hello All,

Recently acquire a 2015 BMW X3 iDrive 35i. During the test drive, the vehicle drove perfectly. It made all the right noises and transmission felt good. I was driving home, and I started noticing that every time I came to a stop and I gave it gas to keep going (not aggressively), it would go through what I think are like four gears very rapidly and bumpy. It only does it coming off a stop once it has warmed up. Once it has picked up it does not do it anymore. (No lights on the dash). Any ideas? Please.

Perform a full i-step update and change the transmission fluid. Give it a week of driving. If there is still something you don't like about the shift behaviour, try an XHP transmission flash and see if you like that better.

Can you take the car back before you pay for a transmission update and fluid change? Get the supplying dealer to do it, and if he wont get your money back. Otherwise you will have some significant bills.

The symptoms described certainly don't sound like the grounds to return a car.
