I have a 2012 uk spec xdrive m30d.

The idrive has tpm but only says all is ok. It does not show actual pressure values.

So does each wheel have a sensor in it or does it use motion somehow to detect a flat.

I’m asking cos I’m going to swap rims and don’t want it telling me off constantly

You have the old-not-so-good-ABS-based system. I.e. system measures rotational speed and if one wheel is off - low pressure - it sends a warning. Not telling which tyre.

You have to recalibrate after tyre swap.
