Dents

So I guess it had to happen sometime.

I parked at my friend's building in the guest space and her neighbor backed out of her space into my front passenger door. It's relatively low, just above the x-line trim pieces, and it's very subtle, but the whole panel needs to be replaced. The body contours down there are too intricate and "swoopy" to be banged out.

Luckily, the neighbor left me a note with her phone number, so I called her and she was very apologetic. I'll see if I can post a picture this week.

I'm getting a second quote, but the first one from my dealership said probably around $1,300.

Judd,

Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like it's easily fixable.

That's the trouble with these darn cars. Starting the engine and driving it can mean mechanical problems and risking getting a dent or worse. The only solution is to park it in a secure garage, put it up on blocks, build a concrete block wall around it and never drive it again. Saves on insurance, too!

Bummer! But at least she had the decency to leave a note; many wouldn't.

Sorry mate it must be infuriating. At least the person owned up to it.

Sorry to hear, but sounds light. Gold Coast Auto's work for Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche and work with all the big insurance companies.

Yeah. The plan is to get a quote from Gold Coast Auto Body, who work with Perillo, and then one from European Auto Body just off of Irving Park. Either way I'm not paying for it, so it'll just be up to who I trust more to get the work done right.
