Removing F25 X3 Nearside Headlight Unit
Hi, can anyone help me
I have a 2013 F25 X3 2.0D M Sport and the inner main beam/dip beam light holder within the nearside housing is loose resulting in a misaligned light unit. I would like to take the unit out, it is not an Xenon unit, and see what is wrong. Does anyone have experience of removing and refitting this unit and if so what is involved. Any help would be appreciated. |

There is a screw on top of the headlight that adjusts the main beam. I can take a picture of it later tonight. My driver side light went up one day higher than the passenger side and I started noticing people adjusting their mirrors. The plastic screw on top adjusted it down, and it still levels off correctly every time now during startup.

Removing F25 X3 Nearside Headlight Unit
Hi Mposter,
Thanks for your quick reply. I am aware of how to make the adjustments but my nearside horizontal adjustment does not do anything as the internal light unit seems to be detached and loose. That is why I am asking if anyone has knowledge of removing the light unit. I have unscrewed the hex bolts securing the unit but I have a horrible feeling that the front panel needs to be removed to remove the whole light unit - hope I am wrong . |

Removing F25 X3 Nearside Headlight Unit
As the car is only about 18 months old I have decided to book it in for BMW to have their say.
Will keep posted on outcome. |

Removing F25 X3 Nearside Headlight Unit
Well, took my X3 into the supplying dealer today. They are replacing the headlight unit together with all four centre wheel and front bonnet (Hood to you guys in the USA) decals which are starting to corrode around the edges without any questions asked.
A pleasing result on the headlight as I was half expecting to have to make a stand due to the time since we purchased the car in February this year. Has anyone else had this decal corrosion issue on an 18 month old F25 X3 ? UPDATE !!! All decals and the headlight unit replaced and headlamp beams adjusted, what a difference. No queries whatever. Have replaced the OEM headlights again with the HID kits that I had originally fitted as took them out as BMW dealers won't touch anything that is different to OEM fitments. Now have terrific dip/main beam headlights that actually point in the right direction ;-). Last edited by bowler_1; 08-25-2014 at 10:06 AM.. Reason: Update to original post. |

Had all 4 wheel roundels replaced on my F25 at app 14 months. This is common and I also had them replaced on my previous E90 at the 2 year mark. Cheers.. |
