Can you post pics?

Do you think this may be a case of Nevada Leather being inferior? I did not have this with my 2009 5 series.

http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1057249 has pics , although its from a month ago and this has gotten progressively worse

I have no idea if its nevada leather specific, like I said I have seen 2011 X3s that looked spotless. Also Mercedes/Audi seats seem to hold up a lot better in general than bimmers, just comparing two random models side by side from past years.

have similar crease, dealer got feedback from BMW with pics that is normal and there is some other who list of stuff on why it creases ie temperature, normal wear of leather blah blah blah.

Having not owned a BMW before and looking at 2nd hand I thought it was just me having too high an expectation. But pretty much every other F25 X3 I looked at online was showing creases in the seat leather. These are all 1yr old sub 10k mile examples.

Heard back from the dealer and pretty much the same story , BMW NA says this is normal. They did give me the option to pursue a case with BMW NA customer relations, which I might just give a shot to, but not expecting anything out of it TBH.

They didnt show anything, also as per BMW NA, whatever the in house BMW tech suggests is the final word ( in this case "there is not a repair at this time that can fix..." )

X4 Guy can you post pics of your condition so I can compare it ?

Can't believe this is normal. Our Mar 2011 X3 oyster leather with 42K miles looks new, no wrinkles or creases. Sounds to me like a batch of bad leather.

even before 1000 miles, hope clear enough, bunching of leather on where you sit too leaving a space between leather and cushion within the seat along the seam, pretty normal according to BMW.

well, so much for a premium car than... had never had any problems with the leather seats of my Renault, nor with anything else. I just hope that my ordered X3 won't have any problems.

I think this is pretty much normal with a BMW these days.

I had the same with my F20 which I drove up to 35 000km. The black Nevada in my X3 doesn't look much worse than those in the pics. It's done 86 000km however, so take heart that you likely won't see it worsen much.

I guess it all comes down to whether you see leather which does this as "faulty" or "non-premium". I can think of many instances (say in the fashion world) where leather which has developed character is highly desirable...

the driver seat in my 14 X3 (less than a year) has the same saggy appearance. I noticed it a couple of months ago, and didn't feel good. but I have never thought about talking to the dealer as I don't know if this is normal. So what would be the criteria to tell it is normal or defective from BMW's standpoint? At least, I don't see any saggy area on my 6-yr old leather sofas.

Good discussion, keep us posted. I will talk to the dealer in the next service.

Mine is a little bit worse than yours :/ And I have 200,000 km. It is something you would expect. Looking at your pictures I notice that looks more like the leather didnt stick to the seat (?). Mine is just a bit deformed at the bottom where my weight goes. All other seats are like brand new. I can post some pictures tomorrow. Thats a fault on BMW's side for sure.

The concern I have is that this may get *much* worse as we actually use the seats more. Trying to get some inside dealership contacts to do the replacement for me if possible but really I see no hope and may have to live with it.
