Why the shortage of X3's in the UK?

my order was placed 24th Sep as per PDF Order form.

Delivery 22nd Dec.

was told delay into 2014 would see price increase.

My dealer told me LCI was not coming in till at least July/Aug 14

I suppose it also depends on what options you pick, Ive ticked quite a few options so perhaps that means it takes longer? Just got back from a 220 mile trip to oxford and back, saw 3 q5's, 6 x5's, 5 Evoques, 2 XC60's and the X3 - NOT ONE!!!

Cooper Tun Wells have a new 3.0d M Sport in showroom cancelled order. White black leather. Has the right options. Ask for Graham if interested.

i think its not dependant on options but on dealer allocation. i am in north london where demand is strong.

Now have a date of 29th November, so looks like BMW were able to pull it forward after all...

I had a chat with my local dealer and they certainly had X3s on stock. I could've had a well spec'd 35d in a week - had I had the money of course....

Live in a relatively affluent part of Solihull and I see tons of Evoques (no doubt because the factory is just around the corner and quite a few of my fellow residents work for Jaguar Land Rover). Also see quite a few more Q5s for that matter. X3s though seem to be much fewer though they are around. FWIW I like that the X3s are fewer

Strangely I seem to have seen loads recently .. Plenty of late low mileage ones at main dealers near me ... And quite a lot of rental ones on the motorways, seems thrifty seem to have a load of x3's. I have seen both 2.0d and 3.0d all msports. All have a little blue sticker on tailgate giving the game away .. All either 13/63 plates

I downsized from a 5 series Touring (3.0D).
Went after a nearly new demo back in July but by the time I got to the dealer it had been sold. They had another one coming in but 12 months old, 19k miles and only £1k below list price. In the end ordered a new one which I collected at the end of October.
The dealer says they cannot get enough of them!
