Was the saleman playing with me?

Hi,
I placed an order 2012 X3 three weeks ago, and salesman told me it took about 20 days to pick up. I called him around 12:30pm how long should I wait. I got a phone call from saleman around 6:45 pm, and he said that I would be the first owner of 2012 X3 in US because the BMW starts to release 2012 X3 model on November. However he could let me pick up end of october so I would be the first owner in US. I read someone picked up his 2012 X3 in NJ. What's up with salesman? Did he fool with me?

Your salesman is giving you a load of BS. Production of the 12's has been going on for a few weeks now and people have started to take delivery of them including "Dukat" here on the boards.

Yep Production started in October stated for arrival in the same month. More than likely you wont be the first US 2012 owner but you'll be one first.
Sounds like your's was an October production since he said he "let" you pick it up at the end of Oct (LOL).

I wish my Nov production could arrive at the end of November as well

tell your salesman to cut the BS and just tell you what you build week is.

I agree.

Yours may be the first 2012 X3 at that dealership, but not in the US.

Arrived, but not picked up...

Yup, my 2012 X3 35i arrived at the dealership on Monday... Sadly, it came so fast I didn't have my financing in place. Here's a photo of the car in the dealer receiving lot. Still has the plastic on it!

I'm in Colo Spgs.

Sales people always talk B*llocks, The first week of 2012 was week 40 and my M Sport 35D was being built that week, it's on it's way to the UK now. Just ask for build week number if it's before 40 it's not 2012.
So beware he could drop you a 2011 car.

Well at least you have placed our order, who cares if it is not the first one off of the 2012 production line. Congrats!

Exactly. At some point, you're the future owner of a beautiful, brand-new, custom built X3... how sweet is that!

With my SA, we had a bit of a "coming to terms" when we first started talking about the trade-in. I think they all probably lie about on thing or another... at least probably stretch the truth. They're sales guys, would you expect anything less?
