So is the X3M a reality or what?
We've been speculating about is and looking at spy shots since 2016!
Is there an official word from BMW that the X3M is actually going to happen?
or are we just getting the X3 M40i?

Q1 2019 i thought i read? as a MY2020 X3M is coming

Better place that order then lol. Stelvio is out this spring and we still have a year for the X3M.

I have been waiting for a replacement for my X5M, but I feel like BMW is too far behind the curve on this one. They REALLY should have introduced the X3M on the previous platform instead of making us wait (We've been talking, speculating about and asking for this for years, for crying out loud!).

Competition has now beat them to market with better and more powerful variants. So what's my motivation?

Brand loyalty?

I only recently began to have an interest for the X3M and even then the wait is pretty long. Even now though I don't see why people would want a M X3 based on the older models. Wait now is just more compounded I guess cause this will be the same engine the next M3/4 will use also. The market only recently changed to have an interest in performance SUV

I wouldn't mind a F97 based with some bits from F85 and G01 with a S55TU engine that way some tuning/mods can be carried over or done easier.
All the new stuff is going to be a whole other level of complex cracking and tuning.

The X3 M has been spied inside and out during winter testing. These are the first interior photos and revealed here is the new M shifter and red M1/M2 buttons (camouflaged with black tape) just like those introduced in the F90 M5.

BMW wants you to lease a regular model.. then come back in 2-3 years and get the M version.

S58 plus all wheel drive sounds like a winning combo to keep up with the Alfa suv and maybe faster off the line than the M4 until that gets all wheel drive. Will be nice if they include a drift mode as well as off road capability with appropriate tires.

No DCT

I think the M3 or the M2 will be the last DCT M cars. They have this same shifter and regular ZF (M tuned) in the new M5. The real question is whether the X3M will have the same M All will drive system.

This thing been a long time coming. Its still like a year away right? Gotta keep saving those pennies @_@

I'm pretty excited about this car. I'm still pretty young and a few years off from getting married and having kids and what not, but this would be an excellent family hauler. I'd prolly be looking at the next gen lol.
