Lacking in cubbies???

Is it just me or does the F25 feel like it doesn't have a lot of cubbies for things like loose change? I don't know where to put the change, I suppose the area in front of the cup holders but it is open/exposed. If a bum sees the change he may decide to break my window just to get to it. Mind you it is much better than the E92 but that's not really saying much.

something like this would work: lidded cupholder insert.

How about purchase the smoker's package?

It would hold a pile of change and hide it from prying eyes.

Mine has a covered drawer in the dash, left of the steering wheel. Whatever you put in there is out-of-sight.

I'd be careful putting change in that little cubby. The way the door swings down there is a crease and the change would/could drop right out.

We call it the gun box though. Perfect place to keep our CCWs.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I will look into the smoker's package.
I don't think I have that little drawer on the left of the steering wheel.

Leslie, hopefully the solution you find is rubber lined so those coins won't be rattling away.

In Italy that's part of a "additional storage" package that includes nets on the back of the seats and (i believe) on the right side of the central tunnel where the passenger is, plus some other accessories in the trunk.

Yes, is part of Storage Package in Canada as well. I couldn't recall the name of the option, so thanks.

I've not had any such problems with the change I keep in mine.

The only thing I wish the driver cubby had is a light. Can't see inside at night.

I think you're right. Just looked and that crack is much smaller than I recalled from memory.

You have some loose change? Sounds like your dealer didn't take everything he could.

If bums in your area are an issue then the smoker's package would be a good idea. However if they're not that large of a concern cheaper options include the chrome cupholder inserts or stainless steel poker-chip cup mentioned in another thread are good options. The chrome insert comes free with the X3 depending on your build date (around $20 if you by them) and the poker chip cup should be less than $10 on ebay, plus they would look great if you have aluminum trim.

I would think the chrome would rattle too much.

Cubby can be seen in this picture. It's my favorite compartment in the X3!

I don't believe that all X3's come with that cubby next to the steering wheel. I recall that one brave and intrepid owner had to buy the unit and then manually cut the dash to install it himself.

It's part of the storage package. Don't check the box and pay your dollar, you don't get it. Not so much magic to it. (May not be available in all markets.)
