Post 2013 X3 Ordering and Pricing Guide

After days of lurking and reading the forum (thanks for all the info!), I have decided to create an account.

The important part: I'm posting the 2013 ordering and pricing guide for US models. I couldn't find it on here and it's not on BMW's website yet, so I went to my dealer today and requested it as I will soon be ordering a 2013 X3. It looks pretty good, but my one complaint is that some of the 2012 stand-alone options (i.e. Automatic High Beams) are now restricted to packages for the 2013 model.

Thanks. It'll be interesting to compare this with the Canadian MY2013 info.

p.s. welcome

Curious that is shows up like that, but I think it's unlikely as zdh still shows a $1300 adder when added to zmp (same as prior years.)

So apparently they dropped the basic 17" wheels.

Dynamic Dampening Control is not included with the M Sport Package. The reference only means that Dynamic Dampening Control replaces the deleted Sports Suspension on the Sticker when you purchase the Dynamic Handling Package for $1300.00.

Do you have any idea how to figure out invoice pricing for the 2013 28i? I'm going to order on Sat but I've gotta be armed with the invoice price before walking in.

Thank you for the brochure. What dealer are you using in NC? Also, I would be interested in hearing how your did on your pricing. I am planning on ordering and picking up in Spartanburg, I want to negotiate based on dealer invoice, which I am assuming is about 92% of MSRP, but wonder if I will lose some negotiating power because I want to order mine.. Any thoughts?

I read in another post here to figure on 92% of MSRP...
Good Luck! Send a note on how you did. I am ordering soon as well...

Does that "Base Price USA Port of Entry" $38,500 include the $895 Destination & Handling charge?

I'm using the dealer in Chapel Hill (#11 in BMW's recent ranking: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...xcellence.aspx). I haven't ordered mine yet so I haven't talked prices with the dealer.
I'm also planning on doing the Performance Center Delivery in SC and I was worried about losing most of the negotiating power, too! I've read a few posts that said that most dealers were still willing to negotiate on custom orders/factory delivery orders. I feel like I still have the "I can walk out of here and go do European delivery on an Audi Q5" card, though (not that I want to purchase that vehicle).

Hopefully someone has had a good bargaining experience?

Unfortunately, I don't think so. The last item on page 11 is the $895 Destination & Handling charge. I love that they called it "Other Charges". Maybe next year the package will be: NOArCo2 The factory air trapped inside your vehicle $895.

This makes sense. I figured it was too good to be true. Thanks.

U.S. Invoice pricing for the 2013 X3

carsolutions.com lists the U.S. invoice and MSRP prices for the 2013 X3s.

All the data is there but the 35i configurator is tricky and I found that I had to blank all the 'appearance' (color) selections, select my desired options and packages, and then reselect my color choices to make it work.

The 28i configuration just does not seem to work.

All the pricing, both invoice and MSRP, is shown however.

Invoice for the base price works out to be about 92% of MSRP while the invoice prices for options are 91%. Remember that the invoice price on the $895 delivery fee is 100% of the MSRP.

Those percentages match the numbers that I have seen from other sources for the 2012s.

It looks like BMW computes the price based on the above percentages and then prices at the nearest round sounding number.

Dealer mark up - delivery fees - X3 28i MPG???

Hi - so my dealer says there is a 7% markup, (MSRP X .93) will give you the invoice. This is pretty much spot on for my area because when I add up all the options on USAA (granted it's for a 2012) it comes up to $1250 over invoice. And of course right now there is a $1250 rebate via USAA so you can snag a car at invoice. It says the promotion runs through 9/31/12 - it does say the promotion is subject to change. According to my dealer I can apply this towards a 2013.

He also said I can take advantage of the South Carolina delivery so I suppose the $895 covers the hotel, breakfast, and the factory tour / driving school???

I want to place an order in the May and pick it up when school is out - I would just like to get the actual MPG because with gas prices going up I might pick up a 328i instead. Has anyone seen the MPG?

Never thought about it like that but that's a good way to look at it. Also includes transfer to hotel, dinner and lunch.

Thanks for the links to the pricing and invoice numbers. What is a good target around invoice to shoot for for a 2013? I'm also looking for Performance Center delivery and hoping to see good MPG figures soon.
