This is the stupidest update to the app ever. Like if I didn't want to unlock my car why would I have chosen the unlock button???? This is going to cause people to call in and have BMW assist unlock their car for them. Thought this app was suppose to help be useful to us! If they wanted a safe measure then you should have asked for the pin number or something else to make sure you really wanted to unlock the car.

Canada doesn't have access to this app. The only way is to sideload it and even then (I tried it), the app hangs. iPhone only...no Canadian Android version yet.

That's what I want to do but, in 5 days you're beat.
BMW said people are "unknowingly" unlocking their cars. Total BS! Anyone that has ever used this app knows they are unlocking. Something aint right....
They said they have been having complaints, so please call in and file one. Maybe they will work it out if they get enough haters.

is this only for iphone? cause i have android and the app still works and there arent any update for android as of now.

This is probably done for insurance reasons. Othervice insurance could claim that the car was unlocked when it was stolen. Same as loosing your keys.

Yeah, since us android people had to go dig up the app from Europe and sideload anyways due to no support in the states, we dont have any issues. We get thermal precondition option with it too that the iphone'rs dont have

I never use that Unlock feature anyway, I love the ability to send google map addresses to the car though, I use that ALL the time!

There's also the 'Send To Car' app (Android) which works great for sending maps. I've been using it for ages now...always does the trick.

The app will work with at least two - after you log in it gives you a choice of cars.

All the comments on this at the iTunes store are negative. I think they did it so that you have to have a BMW Assist subscription to get your car unlocked. Read app update information and it states that it is available for current BMW Assist subscribers. Just another way to ensure a revenue stream.
