Cargo net still available?

has anyone ordered the cargo net on a 2013? I asked for it and my dealer said it is not listed as a 2013 accessory, even though it is listed on the BMW site.

The feature is available approx $200 cost. Cheaper to order from the factory. I regretfully missed this option and having this installed from the dealer is close to $1,000 ($400 for the 2 in 1 cover) and the labor for the ceiling hooks at $600.

Yes we did so it is available. We pick it up this Wednesday, so will confirm then. It was listed in my build order.

Yes, is it available for 2013. We picked up our X3 two weeks ago and it has the cargo net. When I ordered the car, it was not on the dealer's build sheet, even though we ordered it. They checked with BMW directly and got it added to the order.

Make sure your dealer knows you are referring the $180 cargo net integrated into the rear cover, not the little loose cargo net that comes with the Storage package. My dealer thought we were talking about the accessory net until I cleared it up for him.

Thanks folks.

My car is still in 'build' and my dealer keeps giving me 'its not in the 2013 catalog' I told this to BMW and they said 'please check with your sales mgr'...grrrrr

I just told my salesman I want this added to the build. Hopefully, they can make it happen.

Even when I had ordered my X3 2011, it was covered under a package, probably convenience package, I had not ordered it separately.

Ordered mine April 14th delivered May 14th with Cargo net. It is a well designed extra and well worth it.
As I remember it didn't show up as part of my build when I checked the online status but when dealer check there access it was there. That is the only issue I recall. It would be a lot of trouble to add-on because of the fixture on the back of the seats and the overhead fittings. Not sure a dealer could handle it. This is why I recommend getting it with your order. If they don't believe it is available just show them the AV manual offered demonstration on how it works.

Wow. Here is what I got from my dealer.

'I’m afraid that BMW locked us in over a week ago and has now begun production. We can no longer modify the vehicle to add in the cargo net option. At this point we will need to see what becomes available once the parts department updates to include the 2013s.'

Wow... your dealer sucks. I remember my dealer ordered a new car for me to accommodate my last minute change. I didn't expect anything but he said... "well, someone else can have that one!". I bought two more cars from him since.

Agreed! Bigjake, i would press to have your dealer either put through a new order with the cargo net (and have your orig order placed in lot inventory) or install a new cargo net on your ordered car for the $180 it would have cost if ordered from the factory (with no labor added, etc), as has been posted, to retro fit will cost a pretty penny. this is, after all, your dealer's fault. you requested the cargo net on order and the dealer gave you wrong information. escalate this this to BMW NA level if needed. another option would be to refuse the car and not buy it and go to anotehr dealer (assuming, of course, that you have not already purchased it - which would be odd as this is normally done upon delivery).

good luck.

Did they have to put in an entirely new headliner for this?
