Mirrors unfold at speed

Maybe everyone already knows this, but I thought this was pretty cool, if you fail to hit the button to unfold your mirrors (after they are folded in, of course) once the car starts moving forward the mirrors will automatically deploy. I have had other cars with the folding mirror feature and I don't remember this safety feature being present.

I recall seeing this happen once. But, haven't been able to recreate it since. . What speed does it occur? Perhaps I was too impatient.

Yes, they unfold at 40km/h or roughly 25mph.

As it turns out I'm using this feature quite a lot. I always like to fold in my mirrors particularly in carparks. Normally I would simply hold down the lock button on the key fob to achieve this. But occasionally when we have our dogs in the back seat and want to leave the window wound down a bit, I can't use this method to fold in the mirrors as it would also close the windows. So I use the manual button on the armrest to fold them in. Only problem then is that I'm forgetting to manually unfold them when I drive off and are only reminded of this when you hear the wrrr of the mirrors folding out automatically. As I and others have previously said - it would be so much easier if we had the option of having the mirrors fold in whenever we simply lock the car.

Yes! Just confirmed. Auto unfolded at about 30mph. I was pushing the button before then. Wish in the US, we could fold with key fob. I like to often have them folded, but forget to before I leave the vehicle.
