You'll be glad to know that the X3's alarm, at least the 2013, has an above average sensitivity. Recently took a trip on the Washington state ferry system. On one ride it was announced over the intercom that two X3 alarms were going off and would the owners please turn them off. On another ride our X3's alarm was the only one of 200 cars going off. Two rides, 400 cars and only the X3's went off. Of course while on land I saw a Range Rover's go off twice from cars driving by it on a quite street.
