X3 Dynamic Handling Package V M Package
The only difference between the packages is that the Dynamic handling package comes with "Variable Sport Steering". The M package comes with the Damper Control and Performance Control. Shouldn't the M package have the buttons to the left of the shifter?
Like So... Why is it like this? Is it a mistake on BMW's part or the M package doesn't come with the buttons to adjust to sport, norma, sport+ mode? Any help appreciated |

I'm in the US. I searched but really only found stuff about other Countries. It just doesn't make sense that the M package has damper control but you can't actually adjust it...?

I think it's a mistake as I posted this yesterday on one of the "sticky" threads. It would be good if someone can confirm this. It would be great if DDC was included with M Sport but they still charge $1300 for DHP if combined with M-Sport. That would make no sense if DDC AND Performance Control was included in M-Sport. They should have just included all of DHP in the M-Sport package.

yeah this is a new package in the US, and as we know the US always have different packages than the rest of the world.
I think including the damper control on the site IS a mistake! If you look at the pricing guide that was previously posted it doesn't mention Damper Control as included... So I was just playing with the builder and if you add the dynamic handling package it still adds $1300 to the price, there is no way they would charge that just for the steering, which makes me think its a misprint for sure about damper control in the M Sport. Also strange that it doesn't say Damper control on the dynamic handling package anymore. Took the US site over a month to get this option on it and they can't even get it right, I didn't even realize the M Sport was an option in the US yet I kept looking for the Carbon Black color and figured M Sport wasn't on there because the color wasn't, looks like no special colors for the X3 M Sport |

Called the 800# from the bmwusa website and they told me to call the dealer. The dealer didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about... I don't want to order a car and find out that it doesn't have a feature I was expecting it to have..

Call the #800 number and tell that you want to be contacted by someone in product support. Tell them that if you don't hear from anyone, you will just buy an Audi.

Maybe in Canada you can, but not in the US, go to build it, automatically adds the premium package, I think in the pricing sheet it also says must get premium package.
And it is very frustrating when BMW NA and Dealers have no clue what these packages have, pricing sheets show one thing, online shows another, dealers know nothing of either because they are too busy with other things, doing what I don't know. I would almost be tempted to print out the online build info, bring it to the dealer, document it in a few places (with a lawyer friend if you have one) then when your car ships if it doesn't have the damper control, tell the dealer you want $1,000 back! There has to be a mistake - some information says the DDC is part of the M package, others say it isn't.
If they DDC option truly has moved from the Dynamic Handling package to the M Sport package, they've severely dicked the dog on (re-)pricing the packages - $1400 for variable steering? Are you kidding me BMWUSA??? Edit: If you select the M-sport option, the price of the Dynamic Handling packages changes to $1300. Wow, what a difference. :| |

another give-away that its NOT included and it was a misprint is that when you put the M Package on it, the shifter area does now show the DCC button in the picture, add the dynamic package and it does. My guess is when they were editing the site and added the package, someone accidentally (or on purpose, who knows) swapped it from the one package to the other and it IS NOT included in the M Package. I hope I am wrong though! |

if u look at the configurator, m-sport includes DDC. according to another person, the April 2011 X3 brochure shows the m-package including DDC AND variable steering! now the package makes even more sense!!

I'll try my CA on this, but I haven't seen any documents that says DDC and Variable Steering are apart of M-Sport. All the documents I've seen only has Performance Control overlapping with DHP here in the US.
