Next in the series. X3 thermal windscreen, change in the UK?

A *week* after I picked a slow puncture, here goes the next one (gives a good idea of the state of the UK roads). Big stone in the windscreen, just over the wiper. Result is a pretty large impact, and a 10cm crack so it's pretty much guaranteed to need a new windscreen...

Last time I had my windscreen changed on a different car, I had a cowboy come over, replace it, slightly badly, and also managed not to replace the various sensors in their right place... I was reasonably pissed off.

Anyone has a reputable house, around berkshire or Watford that would do the job properly?

I agree, the roads over here are quite dire! I think in your position, I would contact your local BMW service and ask their advice. I too would be very worried about having everything properly restored!

Hope you get it sorted!

The BMW dealers usually outsource this type of work. I called my dealer and asked who they use and contacted them directly. Turned out that they had a shop 200m from my workplace. But they knew their stuff, I wouldn't let "anybody" do this type of work.

Well there we go, glass changed at "autoglass" just near where I work. The guys appeared pretty professional, were pretty anal about the paint, were aware of the sensors etc. Overall (cross fingers, haven't tried the auto-beams yet) it appears it's a good shop!

Now, lets hope it's the last problem I have for a while... 10k miles yesterday!
