New X5 looks alot like the X3

Front end slightly different but a lot of the exterior looks like the X3. Interior not so much.

The x5 and x4 front end definitely telegraph the direction of the LCI X3 expected for my2015.

3 series family resemblance.

Yeah the rear is like 95% X3. Doesn't look too bad, looks less "cheeky" as the current one, and thanks crunchy, they kept the nice Xenons DRL and not cheap looking LEDs like the competition.

De gustibus etc, but, the front end looks a tat too aggressive to me. The interior looks very impressive indeed.

I completely agree with the competition having cheap looking LED's. Other non premium manufacturers are copying Audi with the LED look which I think looks horrible now - have seen it on Citroen and Kia and Peugeot models - even Toyota.

I have xenon's and LED's on my X3 and am sooooo glad they do not compare to the rivals.

The DRL are LED on the X3, not Xenon.
The tail end of the new X5 looks good, but front lower air dam looks horrible as do the side air vents. Does the interior i-drive screen retract?

Interesting that the sDrive / RWD is available - wonder if it will be an option in the US, and if it'll sit lower than the xDrive.

I don't think so. I was watching a fifth gear recently where they complained about it not retracting in the 3 series. Unless the 5 series and x5 have a more premium option to retract, I assume it is the same issue.

Thats the worst part of the 3 series' interior in my opinion, I sure hope this not the new direction BMW is going with their idrive screens.

I agree. It is like a poor person's audi popup screen. Either make it retract or make it more natural to the dash.

If it doesnt retract, BMW should try to integrate it into the dash, this is a $70,000 SUV after all.
