UK Brochure errors

It seems this forum is far more informative than the average dealer and below are a few of the obvious errors in the UK sales brochure for anyone yet to place an order

Page 55 | Optional Equipment - Steering Wheel
Picture of standard multi function steering wheel is wrong and shows no buttons (actual steering wheel shown below)

Name: IMG_4797.jpg
Views: 1148
Size: 39.4 KB

Page 58 | Optional Equipment - Sports Seats
Brochure says "electrically adjustable" another error

Page 61 | Genuine Accessories Page
Main image caption says "carbon rear spoiler...." But no such accessory and not pictured

Please add additional errors from brochure and UK site

At least there is a printed brochure in the UK. So far, the US dealers have no brochure (however, mine still has some 2010 brochures left over as of last week). Although, the US on-line configurator does seem to be correct most of the time.

Is it better to have a brochure with a handful of errors or no brochure at all and customer advisors who have little idea of what equipment is standard, what is included in the various option packages and what can be ordered separately?

Thank goodness that we have access to forums like this.

Tried 2 uk dealerships for a brochure. Latest (with m sport) still not avilable. Is there an online PDF link where you don't have to request a slimey sales advisor contact you? I particularly want to read up on all of the items in the nav pro media package inc the Assist stuff.

BIMMER UK 76,

So, the Sports Seats don't have any electrical adjustment? Not even height and backrest as shown by the configurator?

Bummer!

The only PDF brochure in English you can get is (remarkably) an Australian one

http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showth...&highlight=pdf

As BMW UK are responsible for the website content, don't expect anything to change on this any time soon

Go the Aussies. It looks like BMW are really focusing on the Australian market finally. My 30d M pack goes into production in April, then the long ship trip down the pacific.

None of the ones I have seen with sport seats have electric adjustment. I was disappointed with this too as I have exactly the same electric adjustments as reported in the brochure in my current car and you can get a really good fine adjustment.

Having said that once set it won't really change unless my wife drives the car and then that is only likely to be moving the seat forward.

Is the extended light package included as standard on the se. The brochure says it is but then the detailed spec only includes some elements ( ambient lighting) and doesn't mention door handle lights or rear footwell lights. Can't see the option in the price list so hope it's included.

One of my favourite features on the car. A really nice surprise and it didn't cost me any extra.

In that case you must also have option ZX0 (includes codes 459 & 488)

Electric Seat adjustment with lumbar support package at £950 option as this is the only way you have memory seats in the UK according to the BMW literature

Electric seats cannot be ordered without the ZXO package in the UK

I can confirm that the Energy Recovery gauge depicted twice in the brochure is NOT standard as stated but as per the US online manual is only available as part of the Pro Nav system - a £2,515 error! Oh but don't tell BMW after you have ordered, as if you do you will be advised that the error clearly did not alter your ordering decision so that your complaint is worth only a "sorry for making a typo". Quite pathetic that they have been aware of so many errors for so long but it appears have made no attempt (yet) to correct significant errors. So spot those errors and complain before you order my psychic friends.

What fun. All our brochures have for years shown "European models". Hardto tell what would be on the US model and what wouldn't. I feel you pain . . .

The electric seat package clearly says in the brochure that the steering column is electrically adjustable. I have the electric seat package and it isn't. It's 100% manual adjustment using a lever. Lies.
