Lunch Control?

Does the x3 on all models have Lunch Control?

idk but, when I'm in the 1st one in a two lane at a stop light, set everything to sport mode, i rev my engine to 1,5k and floor it when 3-5 secs before the light turns green :P

As far as I know, the F25 doesn't have launch control. I don't think there's enough power going down to all 4 wheels to need launch control (never had any wheel-spin at acceleration so far).

I didn't see this option!!!. Can I order lunch via the iDrive Menu? Sorry I couldn't resist Although I guess one could - theoretically - via BMW assist/online services

Back on topic - No the current F25 X3 doesn't feature launch control..

i got this idea from the motortrend when they were doing a review on the M6. That guy just push and held the DSC button down for 3-5 secs then lunch control activated.

i haven't tried it, but i will do it tommorrw and see how it goes.

If you're going to try the lunch control tomorrow, just remember not to have a big breakfast in the morning.

The X3 doesn't have launch control but I've always wondered about launching the car.

This is my first awd car but is it bad for the transfer case to rev the car then floor it?

No point. Even with revving the engine before letting go of the brakes, the X3 will not spin it's tires. I track my X3 and I rev mine to build boost at 2k and it will not go past that.

Yup, like others said, no launch control and it's not really needed. It just grips and goes.

About the only fun I can have with it is in sport mode and flooring it around a corner with traction control turned off. It will let the rear end step out about 15 -20 degrees before it intervenes. It's enough to let you counter steer going through the turn, essentially taking the turn in a small controlled drift. It's also way more fun on wet tarmac!!
