New 35i - Two weeks in

I've had my X3 35i, SP/Oyster/Fineline Wave, for about two weeks after a thankfully brief 4-week wait. Since these forums are particularly helpful when sharing/solving problems, I'm happy to say mine is glitch-free and feels and sounds so much better than I had anticipated. The sports seats are the most comfortable I've had - the thigh support solving comfort issues with a 6'3" frame. The learning curve for me was steep, since my three previous BMW's were pre-iDrive and very straightforward in approach. But it was a fast learn, surprisingly - very intuitive. Am loving the Apps; I've never had such completely iPhone connectivity. But it's somewhat irritating that you'd have to have an iPhone AND a Blackberry to squeeze all the tech out.

I was moving from an EX35, which I loved, but it had a backseat such that small animals would complain about legroom. Now, I'm looking for excuses to cart people around and go on insignificant errands. Guess that's "Joy"!?

Very pedestrian pics below in an aesthetically-challenged parking lot, but felt I had to document myself here as I hope to be as helpful as many here have been for me. Happy driving to all!

Beautiful color. Looks like you got the front windows tinted to match the factory rears. Are they 35%

Yes, 3M Color Stable 35% on the front. 3M Crystalline (almost clear) on the windshield, though looks darker in that picture. Makes an incredible difference in glare, and heat gain. Was concerned about the legality of any tint at all on the windshield, but it's negligible and ok here in Maryland anyway.

Awesome PICs, Beautiful M-Sport. I am anxiously awaiting my Space Gray with Oyster. If you get a chance to take some PICs of the interior I would appreciate it. Also, have you waxed it yet? It looks terrific. If not how long will you wait to wax?

I really like the anthracite headliner/trim with the Oyster, though others may find it a bit dour. That's the big difference in the interior. I'll try to take some that gives a sense of that overall difference, as many have focused on the dash - though that was helpful to me as well. I ordered on faith, as there were no M-sports to be seen around here. In fact this was the first that this (rather large) dealership had received. so it garnered some attention. It seems that most orders are converting existing production allocation, as it was in my case. That makes for a faster delivery process but doesn't allow much inventory to make many comparisons - at least around here.

I applied a light coat of wax that didn't require a lot of surface work, just because I don't think it came with any surface protection at all. Maybe something was supposed to be done at the dealership, but it didn't. Perhaps contemporary finishes are "cured" more quickly than in the past, but I'm likely going to wait a couple months before a serious wax. I would be happy to be told that my concerns are baseless.

We've got the same SG/Oyster M-sport sitting at the dealer waiting for us to take delivery. I must say, I LOVE the anthracite headliner/oyster combo...and this was also our dealer's first M-sport X3.

Great to see the enthusiasm for the Oyster on Space Gray with Anthracite head liner. Very excited to see this combo myself, there is not one in my area to look at and I orerderd it blind. My dealer told me mine is the first M-Sport in this area also, Northern Colorado.
