Update...
I finally got my 28i back yesterday! The whole instrument cluster has been replaced with a new unit so hopefully this will never happen again.
On a sidenote, after having the 35i for almost a whole week going back to a 28i seems somewhat dissappointing...I never like to have regrets on getting the 28 but now tasting the acceleration, engine sound, sports steering wheel, and very noticable suspension/handling upgrade...made me loose sleep on thinking of just adding an extra $3000+, I could have had a base 35i(already come with corona/xenon heads) with sunroof rather than getting a 28 with premium package. I really love the sports steering wheel, so I had it priced out but it'll cost $2000+ for the part alone ...I wish some 3rd party would design a sports steering wheel that would work with the stock airbag, so no need to change the airbag since it cost $1000 by itself. I didn't think it would be such a big difference driving a 35i but man, I can't stop thinking about it...wonder how much I would loose out if I trade my 28 for a 35??? |

You can ask, but my guess is that you will get skinned pretty badly, the 28i is a used car now.
