But was that in reference to the 184hp 20i model that is the topic of this thread and is already being offered elsewhere? Or do you mean that they told you that the 28i will receive the 240hp N20 for MY2013?

I suppose the latter was all but certain at this point anyway, but I am still curious about which model you were referring to.

I donno. The following response didn't say, "We did actually receive info this morning back from BMW regarding the 4 cyl. Turbo. It will be in the X3 as a 2013 model feature"

I assume the n20 already installed in the X1

It appears that the N20 28i is now available in Germany.

^^^

Good info - thanks for posting. I am surprised there has been no press release detailing this. They seemed to make a pretty big deal out of it when the 528i and Z4 28i made the switch.

Hmm, reading between the lines it looks like the 30d just might be released when the MY2013 starts production. Woohoo 0-60-6.1sec. and 40mpg.

Anyone bought gas in europe recently?
In Sept. 2011, we rented a panamera in germany to drive the autobahn.
a fill up costs eu$165 !
When oil suppliers can sell to better markets in south & east asia, better believe everyone in North America will cry for more diesel engine options.
