Black glossy trims for central console
Does anybody have these black glossy trims on the central console?
What do you think about them? I'd like to change stock matt trims to the glossy ones. Scratches and dust are more noticeable on them? Sun reflections? |

BMW have been offering piano black or gloss back for many years. It used to scratch very easily and of course being black, showed the dust more. Perhaps it's more scratch resistant now? Your local dealer should have some samples.

I only have the car since a couple of months, I like the effect of the glossy finish, but honestly I can't tell if it's more delicate than the "normal" finish.
Dust is visible on them as well as on the other matte parts... so I wouldn't take it as a good method for comparison. Scratches? Not tried yet... |

I think they go well with the other glossy trims like the two wood finishes. I've ordered the glossy black inserts to go with fineline wave wood. I'm not sure it would look as complimentary if you had the standard brushed aluminium, as thats more of a matte finish.

Which is exactly my configuration, oh well, the base finish is not aluminum, it's matte aluminum look, it's plastic, but I can tell, it doesn't disturb ;-)
