2013 BMW X3 Engine Light...Need Help!

I have a 2013 BMW X3 twin-turbo, I've bought it second hand only with 40,000km on the vehicle. After a couple of weeks of purchase I noticed that the oil temperature gauge wouldn't go up at all, sometimes it did but majority of the time it did not.. I also noticed that the car had a lot of hesitation when accelerating, the RPM wouldn't go over 2500 and wouldn't let me exceed anything beyond 100km/hour while other times theres no hesitation whatsoever. Just recently since it started to snow I noticed that the heat wasn't as warm as it should be and that too was lacking... Has anyone faced this issue and was able to fix it? Its out of warranty sadly..

Appreciate the help in advance!

28i or 35i? If the latter, the thermostat module could be the problem. If it is, consider having the water pump replaced at the same time.

Yeah its the 35i, from replies on the thread it seems that is the most plausible, appreciate the help!

Did you happen to get it fixed at a BMW dealer? Since mines still in warranty i'm thinking of going in and fixing it. I had called them they said it was $175 + taxes for diagnostics then they'll see if the issue is covered under warranty, so I was wondering is the thermostat covered under warranty, would you happen to know?

Quick update, just got the BMW X3 serviced at the dealership, they replaced the thermostat, did a transmission oil change, replaced the heat exchanger and toped up anti-freeze, this was all covered under warranty. I appreciate all the help!
