Nice Pictures and some driving days a professional trucker would be proud of. Here's another trip write up I liked- http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...coast+to+coast

Nice trip and pictures! I've been to several of those places over the years, but all by flying out there. The longest trip so far in the X3 was 1300 miles in 5 days.

Unfortunately I don't have the camera expertise that Eric has. I was thinking about that on my way home from work tonite. His pics are beautiful. I only have a Nikon crappy point and shoot. But I will try to take pics on the way. I'm going to have a GoPro video camera though.

I'm definitely a fan of having snowtires as I've done this type of trip before with snows and it made a big difference, especially in the mountains. I'm waiting for snow here to test them out. So far I'm impressed with the handling around town but I think they are somewhat noisier than I thought but ok though.

Thank you for your support! Appreciate it
Just purchased a Panasonic G5 series compact mirrorless camera for the same reason. Also bought the 45mm-150mm for long shots. Lens is very small and light, but produces great shots.

That little Sony NEX-C3 takes great pictures for a compact camera, I am going to look into getting one. Thanks for the tip.

Panasonic borrowed a lot from Leica products, which is great!

You can go even smaller and get 95% of image quality of C3 and even better low light performance by having Sony DSC-RX100M. I tried my friend's for a week and was amazed. It's not your typical point and shoot. Check out the NYT review: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/28/te...anted=all&_r=0

It's the future bro.
