headlight change

I looked all over youtube. Anyone have a link to a video on how to change a 2011 X3 headlight? I can only find on the older models.

One of my lights turned pink and from what I read it looks like I have a couple more days until it completely dies.

Thanks!

I have xenon bulbs, is it possible to do that myself or I need to go to the dealer?

From what I've read in this post: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showpo...97&postcount=7

It seems that xenons are not ideal for DIY changes. You might be better off taking it to the dealer.

Yes it can be done. I replaced mine last year. Just get a pair of D1S hid bulb. To be safe disconnect your battery so you don't accidentally short anything. Remove the round black plastic housing cover from the headlight assembly. I don't remember since its been a while, but I believe you turn counter-clockwise to remove cover. Remove bulb either turning counter-clockwise or if there was clips holding the bulb and ballast to remove. Remember to not touch glass bulb with your hand or fingers because of skin oil. Maybe wear non powdered surgical gloves.

You can search for hid bulb replacement for 3 series sedans that have xenon on youtube since removal is very similar.

It was easy to do. Hope this helps.

Remember when reconnecting the battery cable to reset your date/time on vehicle since disconnecting will wipe from memory.
