Hello all, my daughters 2016 X3 is having a liftgate issue. It tries to open electronically, but only goes up about 6 inches and then closes. The buttons (key fob/liftgate) seem to start the process properly, but it only gets to that point. I can hold it open at that 6 inch point and attempt to continue the lift but it is literally frozen at that point. It wont go up any further from there. Im hoping it is one of the electric struts needing to be replaced, but i cant even get it open enough to diagnose properly. I read it could be some safety sensor or stop that is occurring and causing it not to open any further. Is there a way to bypass this so i can open it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ensure that the vehicle's battery is in good condition, as a weak battery could cause electrical components, such as the liftgate, to malfunction.
