X3 Key Fob not working

I have 2 Key Fobs out of which one is working and the other one isn't. I tried swapping the batteries but still one of them doesn't work. I opened the key fobs and all the electronics seem to be in place with no loose connections. What are my options other than contacting the BMW Dealer?
I have 2013 X3 20d.

did the non functional FOB ever work?

How about living with only ONE, doable?

Both of them were working till a couple of days back. I use them alternately. Living with one isn't an issue at all. But just doesn't feel right to have a non functional fob.

BMW dealers are often very pricey; they'll want to order you new FOB and make the big buck sale.

You might post your question in F30 3 Series sedan forum as it's a lot more active than the SUV forums.
