3.5 engines shortage??? WHY, is it true

"you have been bumped to week 32 it will be middle next month all the 2.8 engines are going ahead of you must be a shortage of the 3.5 engines", my dealer

has anyone else been told this, i ordered it june 17th

Is it possible that the plant is trying to get out all the 2.8s to get ready for an engine switch next year?

I ordered my 35i around June 25th and my car is awaiting transport. I don't think it makes sense for your dealer to say that. I call his bluff.

Thats what I thought!! sounds like bull, think im going to drop the deal. i don't take shit from dealers.

My wife's 35i (ordered last week) was due for production wk 34, then two days later they moved it to wk 33. Your dealer is telling porky pies.

ok, now he said that its probly becasue of the bmw usa shut down, i guess the week they closed down, has slowed down production.

I called another dealer and they confirmed that my dealer had a car in status 112...

just have to wait patiently!!!

i have a 28i on 112 status as well. my dealer told me that the car is going into production on the week of Aug 1.

I ordered a 35i on Jul 7..

It is supposed to go into production week of Aug 7!
