So I had went to a dealer in southern CA in the beginning of June to place an order for a 2011 X3 35i MSport which was supposed to go into production the 3rd week of July, since then there has been more and more information about the 2012 coming out in Sept. Due to the fact that I was not impressed with the dealer who had a lack of knowledge about the vehicle and that they insisted 2012's weren't coming out until Nov/Dec I decided to cancel my order and wait for the 2012. I received an email from another dealer in my area stating that the 2012 production will begin Sept 1st. Is anyone else holding out for the 2012 and has anyone been able to start an order yet or hear about 2012 allocations?

I am talking to multiple dealers in MD w/ 35i slots about to snag one of them w/ my order - I was told October 1st for X3 2012 production. the september slot for me should be 2011.

This is what I was sent from a dealer but none of them have mentioned any allocations yet.

"The 2012 X3's will begin production in September 2011. The 2012 35i base price is going up to $42,400 but now includes the panoramic moonroof, floormatts and highgloss gauges as standard equipment."

I started working with my dealer yesterday for a 2012. I'm locking down an allocation for October but my dealer said 2012 production starts in September.

As the MY 2012 is 'just around the corner', is it wise to wait for one of these? My local dealer says he doesn't know when 2012 going into production... But he has a 2011 in allocation (aka spec vehicle) which I could prob get in Sept and still have time to change spec...

Also, what kind of dea should I be looking at getting seeing as I would think dealers are trying to use up their 2011 stuff? Invoice?
