30D - "rotating" knock on switch off
When switching off the engine of my 30D I frequently hear a rotating knocking sound from the engine compartment, it's like a pump spinning down - surely not the turbo...it would be wrecked if it were doing this wouldn't it? The sound lasts about 3 secs.

I'm pretty sure you've fixed it already but just curious what was the issue on 3.0d?!
On my previous X3 F25 2.0d i use to hear it every time but that prove to be a normal ''reset to zero'' of actuators and some other things in engine bay... |

It's not fixed and your explanation is in line with what I think I'd happening.
