Ignition (non-comfort access)

Just had a thought after looking at some interior pics... Do cars without comfort access have a slot on the dash to put the key in or do they have the same principle as comfort access ie the key just has to be in the car?

Thanks

There is no slot to insert the key with or without comfort access. The key must be inside the car to start it.

Yep they don't have a slot like 3 series. The only thing is that you have to press the unlock key on the fob to unlock the car, unlike the comfort access where it'll unlock once you touch the handle.

Thanks for confirming. Now I have to decide what to do with my f25 and house keys! Might be a bit bulky to leave in trouser pocket. What does everyone recommend?

As strange as that slot to insert the key in the E90 seemed to many people, I really got used to it. The slot was a place holder for your keys.

In the F25 I don't have comfort access and I need to get out the fob to unlock. Then I get in the car and have no place to put the fob with other keys attached. It usually ends up sitting in the cup holder or area in front of it which looks sloppy, wastes space, rattles around etc. women have a purse, what should I do stuff bulky keys in my pocket?

I LIKE THE SLOT.

Totally agree. Having just sold my E90 I'm struggling to see the best way to store my F25 key & other keys without scratching/damaging the interior.

Definitely don't want them in my trouser pocket!

I too got used to having a slot to put the key in (coming from a VW CC) but I just throw them in the cup holder or the space in front of them.

For where to keep the keys I only have 2 keys beside the F25 key, so I just put them together on a key ring and keep them in my pants pocket.

EDIT: I sometimes put the key in the tiny little square when I wear jeans, if I'm just running inside somewhere real quick also.

I personally don't mind the key in my pocket, I have a wallet in one pocket anyway and its no big deal taking the key out to open the doors then putting it back in my pocket.
Less chance of getting Car Jacked! in good old Newcastle lol!

I don't attach other keys to the F25 key fob and find at works well or me. I have comort access and the fob is either in my pocket or in something I'm carrying. Love not having to fumble with the key. My wallet holds a house key, so that's usually the only other key I carry.
