I finally booked an X3 - LCI, Xline variant. Delivery is in the coming week.

I got the VIN from dealer. It is WBA so looks like its been manufactured in Germany, assembled in chennai in August 2014.

Right now Impatiently waiting.

So I realized about 2 weeks ago my car doesn't go above 3700 rpm when the redline is past 5000rpm. This was in any mode. I knew something weird was up, with the oil temperature gauge showing below normal, and now the rpm being limited.

Took it to the dealer, who had to reflash the entire car. They say the issue is sorted out now, but I've told them to fix the wind noise and the dash speaker rattle and give the car back to me.

What a weird issue it was.

I wonder if your X3 was still in "transport mode", which the dealer should have cleared before delivery.

The car was reflashed, and now the shifts seem to be proper, also the oil temperature is back up to halfway, which is normal.

The iDrive seems to have got tiny updates too, I noticed when in split screen mode when I display the journey computer (its now called trip computer), instead of having 5 lines of the data, its displayed with different graphics with the distance and time moving up the screen as you run more kms.

My UK registered 2013 (September build) X3 xDrive30d MSport has WBA as the first 3 letters of the long VIN, with type production code WY52 and it is definitely manufactured in the Spartanburg USA. Naturally it is built there also.

Just FYI, the X3 is also built locally here in Indonesia since 2012/3 (forgot the exact year).
