Sounds like Pirelli is not much better than the GY Eagle LS2 thread life wise. Are there any good all season runflats out there with good thread life?

About 20k miles on my LS2. Outside wear on two front tires, had them rotated. Will need new tires in next 5k miles or so. Not happy. Also not sure what to go with next.

we got 31k miles on out 2011 LS2s. Dealer said that was some of the highest mileage they've seen on them. I drove them hard too. Replaced with the new potenze rfts.

My tread is ok in the center and inside it is the fronts on the outside
I would assume this had the quicker tire wear based on my driving habits! Lesson learned I guess

My 2013 X3 has about 12K on them and they are like new. My 2011 528 had about 43K when I changed them and they probably had another 3-4K left. I could have gotten 50k easy on the 528 but was not aware of the factory positive camber on the front of BMW's which caused the excessive wear on the outside edge. I plan to rotate the X3 at 15K to reduce the wear with them. Guess I am one of the luck ones that received two good sets of tires.

Apparently run flats get about half the mileage of standard tires and cost twice as much. That makes them 4 times as expensive on a per mile basis, and they don't handle or ride as well either. I'm going with non-run flats when my original tires wear out. Worst case is I'll have to get towed if I get a flat, but you'd have to do that with a run flat anyway if you want to repair and reuse it.

The runflat technology have no affect in thread life, its the tire itself. I had a set of Good year Eagle LS conventional tires which did not last too long as well.

I have my new tires on order in the mean time I am going to rotate my fronts to the back. Does anyone know the torque spec for the lug nuts?

I got 35k outta my LS2's

Frankly, I was surprised. I don't think I've ever gotten 35k on any tires I've run on any car I've owned. Plenty of highway miles on there.
