Black F25/X3 LCI 28d Exterior Upgrade/Mods Recommendations

Just picked up a 2015 Black Sapphire 28d Xline yesterday in Canada. Looking for some suggestions and recommendations to make it look even nicer.

First up I want to change the kidney grills. I know this topic has been talked about to death but I was wondering if anyone has gone with the glossy black dual slat kidney grills. Should I go with the single slat or dual?? Anyone have pictures of how the dual slat looks like on the F25 LCI? What's a reputable site I can find good quality ones (fitment, paint, etc)?

Second on Canadian, or I think on all North American versions, the headlight has this ugly orange reflector in it. What kinds of options are out there to cover it up without opening the headlights. Vinyl, tint? Pictures??

Also looking to do a corner delete. Is this possible on the F25? I've done it on my E90 pre lci through a shop in Langley BC.

Since it's almost winter I am not going to touch the wheels for now. But come spring I think I'm going to go black on black.

What other exterior upgrades do you think are well worth it? Has anyone painted or removed the grey trim pieces at the bottom of the doors? Or has painted the roof rails from silver to black.

thanks for all the help.

I'm picking up a 2013 x3 on Friday, I'm already thinking about doing a quad exhaust setup. I like a more symmetrical look. I still have my stock 335i exhaust, so I'm hoping to have it fitted for a more aggressive look.

What trim X3 are you getting? Does it already have dual exhaust system on it or do you have to mod the rear end?

I'm not sure I want to mess around with the exhaust on mine personally. I don't really like loud exhausts, plus my little one is in the back from time to time. Might disturb her sleep. lol Vroom, vroom.

I'm getting everything except NAV, its the F25 x3 35i with Premium and executive package.

I am going to try fitting the 335i stock exhaust, its more for the look of symmetry then sound, I hate that the exhaust are off to one side. Even the x1's have duals.

Other mod plans:

- M-sport fenders

- 20 inch rims

- Getting all the black trims on the fender and bumper painted body color for the M-sport look.

-M-sport Steering wheel

- Getting the android OEM fit 8inch screen

- Full digital cluster.

I'll post pics once I get it all washed and detailed. Do you have pictures of the dual slat grill on your x4 ? Where did you get it from ?

Ya vinyl might be the way to go. Easy to do and might look just as good. I don't want to mess around with opening the headlights.

You should also consider a set of front/rear spacers. My wife's X3MS came with 19's which roll on 245/45/19. With spacers, it gives the vehicle a nicer, more aggressive stance. With you being in BC, you'll still be able to run snow chains should you need them in the winter.

Also, there is a fair amount of coding you can do to the X3. I coded ours and it's much more enjoyable.

nice zcspec. What size spacers did you use, I have the 19 inch Y-SPEICHE 608's on mine.

What kinds of codes did you play around with?

Our winters in Vancouver aren't all that bad. The all wheel drive should be more than enough to handle the snow, if we get any this year.

I installed 15mm in the front, 20mm in the rear. As far as coding goes:

- folding mirrors
- temp on TPMS screen
- M Performance on heads up/main dash

and a plethora of other things. If you're ever down in Seattle or if I head up on to BC, we'll connect up.

You can make the mirrors auto fold using code? Nice!

What brand spacers did you go with? Have a link? I want to do 15mm / 20mm as well.

I agree. Aside from vinyl wrap is more cheaper and practical, it will also give awesome look to your car. I got mine wrapped by **********.

My gloss black dual slat kidney grills have finally arrived. They were on back order, but of course they didn't tell me that until I put my order in. lol Will be installing them soon.

I think the blacked out grill is a nice touch. I did it on my 2011 X3 and love how it looked, although the only option for me was the single slat grilles i believe. I just ordered the Remus exhaust for mine as i was also really wanting the symmetrical look out back but hoping it doesnt make it too too much louder. I just didnt like the Remus tips, so i ended up ordering the Akrapovic tips for it. And have a set of the 310M wheels waiting in the garage with tires that need to be put on so it can all go on the X3 once this dam snow is gone.

Hi I'm new here.

Damn your grill changes all look awesome. I am thinking of adding a black gloss dual slat grill with carbon fiber frame (along with other carbon fiber trim - maybe handles, antenna fin, side mirrors and emblems).

What do you guys think about the grill, with/without tricoloring? (my X3 is has the m sport package - is adding tricolor cool or cheesy?) The pics were the best I found from the sellers but my vehicle is also alpine white. I figure the glossy black grill will go great with the black gloss rails/pillars.

Thanks!
