Early order production week is...

They had bumped my completion date up to today but it's pushed back until tomorrow (10/31) again, but I'm not optimistic as it hasn't moved forward to body or paint shop yet.

My info graphic only moved once from nothing to in production. I relied on the genius. I called them 1x per week.

Yes they told me my estimated production week. When my car entered production. Where it was along and finished.

Ahhh.. that's what makes me nervous. They have all along seen my car as "in production" with a scheduled completion date of oct 31st initially then pushed up until today and now pushed back until tomorrow. But hey have never seen my car make it past the initial production step. That's what makes me nervous that my car won't be finished anytime soon. Kinda weird considering my car went into production oct 19th.

I had the same issue. Went from scheduled for production and a changing completion date of "tomorrow" every day, to all of the sudden it was completed and waiting for release to the carrier. When I spoke with the customer assistance rep after it was completed QA checks, she suddenly had dates for body shop, paint shop, etc. But on the day the car was in allegedly in assembly, I had called for status and the rep indicated that it showed as scheduled for production.

It's been awaiting release since the 26th, so we will see how long before it shows up in NY. Our 2015 took only one week from carrier release to showing up in Poughkeepsie, so we will see.

Thanks for the info! Just got off the phone with a "genius." My 30i is apparently done and was released to the carrier today! Supposed to be at the dealer (NJ) this Saturday. BMW account still says "Production Begins." The genius apologized and said the website is not very helpful. Hopefully the genius was more accurate.

For those waiting for theirs, I believe the order went in on 10/18.

Wait - did you say that your order went in on 10/18 and it is completed and released to the carrier today? So under 2 weeks before it's on the way to the dealer? Is that the fastest we've seen on this forum?

The dealer could have assigned one they already had in the pipeline, or maybe it just began production on 10/18.

I was a bit surprised. I expected mid-November. There is a chance he ordered on 10/16 before we fully finalized. I guess there's also a chance it was one that they had pre-ordered, but I did make a few changes from what he first proposed. I changed the interior color (from black to mocha) and added Carplay. He then said "We are all set! I will keep you posted on production" on 10/18. So if you can place an order and then tweak the materials/options, then this could've already been in the pipeline.

That’s great timing. I do know people have changed things on their orders after ordering but before it actually starts building, so perhaps the dealer was able to do that with an existing allocation.

Sorry about that. Mine made it to dealer on Oct 25 and the dealer was initially told he had to sit on it till the release date of Nov 11, though finally released it to me today!!

And, yeah, it will take them at least a day to get the transportation film off the car and prep it for release.
