Lightbulb Three new optional equipment features for the BMW X3, from August

Three new optional equipment features for the BMW X3.

From August, there will be a choice of new optional features for the BMW X3. A sports leather steering wheel with shift paddles and an M leather-clad steering wheel with shift paddles are both new features for all BMW X3 models with standard or optional automatic transmission. Likewise as from August, it will also be possible to order the BMW X3 xDrive 20d with environmentally friendly BluePerformance technology, which meets the requirements of the EU6 exhaust emission standard.

Sarcasm? If so ... OOPS !!

If not, the standard transmission refers to manual transmission which is standard atleast on the UK / EU spec cars and the Auto is an optional extra.

The 20d and 20i is avaliable with manual stick. The bigger engines are only avaliable with auto.

It would be nice to know for what market the features were announced for...

We have many discussions on this forum that get convoluted because of the market specific products.

I find myself looking at where the post originates before participating in the discussion.

I honestly did not know there was a manual X3 to be had anywhere on earth. I stand corrected.

Like the diesel motor, the manual transmission is not available in the States.

Is this referring to the standard ZF 8 speed transmission vs. the ZF "Sport-Auto" 8 speed transmission - akin to what is available in the F10?

Annoyed that we did not and could not get the shift paddles on Australian spec X3s.
Grrrrr.

I assume this is what they're referring to in terms of different transmissions.

Could we possibly have a link to the announcement? It's already possible to have an X3 with leather + paddle shifter and M leather steering wheel. Is the announcement simply saying that it's now possible to add the options without buying the whole package?

Thanks, very interesting - is it already known how the announced BluePerformance technology change the power output of the engine?

It was my understanding the 2013 28i could not be ordered with shift paddles--only for the 35i as an option--here in the US. Correct?
