Updating Navi Software 2011 X3 F25

Hi folks:
I have looked at at number of previous posts on this and I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Following are pics which I hope will make explanation and understanding easier.

Step 1:
I've downloaded this file onto a brand new 64 gb thumb drive formatted to exfat:
"D:\bmw_cic_fsc_generator-win32-1.91"

Step 2:
Added this second file to the same thumb drive:
"D:\1b.zip"

Step 3:
Added this file onto a second, brand new 64 gb thumb drive formatted to exfat:
"D:\CIC_NA_BASE_TA_112194_2_12_112194.2.12.pkg "

Step 4:
Inserted the first Thumb Drive into the USB in the glove box

Step 5:
Inserted the second Thumb Drive into same USB

PIC of my current Navi Software version and the message I get saying there is no recognizable USB

Any and all assistance is appreciated.

Not sure what you're actually trying to accomplish, I'm kinda confused, so explain in detail exactly what you're trying to do.
The 2nd pic is the version for the phone & usb music firmware, not the navigation map version.
The 1b.zip is used to create the fsc code needed after installing a new map and it needs to be unzipped before it can be used and you're missing several other steps
AFAIK, you're not going to be able to update the navigation software version via a USB stick, that needs to be flashed with something e-sys/PC/ethernet cable, though the actual map can be updated via USB.
Pretty sure the usb needs to be fat32
I see map files in your post, you can't just place them in root, they need to go in a pkgdb directory with a config in the root.

Thanks for your response.

I tried to be clear, but honestly, I am confused myself. My objective is to update the maps in my navigation. The current mapping is waaaay out of date. This maybe a bridge too far for this old dog.

Ok, so you're trying to update the map not the navi software, wasn't sure what you were doing since you posted a pic of the phone s/w version.

Updating the map is pretty easy, even for an old dog, lol... Simply follow the instructions here

FWIW, some years ago I updated the NAV maps on my 2011 X3 to:

Road Map North America PREMIUM 2019

Everything went fine. The steps were very similar to the process described in pungo's post.
