Interior trim

Will have my car tomorrow

BUT dealer make a mistake and order wrong interior trim
He says that I have just to come back and they will change it because it's just a "snap-in" think. Is it true

It is possible. After all, they would have the ability to repair it so it makes sense. However, even if all of it can be changed, it will still be something done by the dealer. You need to be comfortable with that; sometimes the dealer will offer you some sort of compensation as well. A similar thing happened to me through no fault of the dealer or me: a passerby hit my car as it was parked immediately after transport. I was OK with it and the dealer provided excellent service and a very nice gift package. Others on the forum have not been so lucky.

And as someone said in here as well, at least you were told! Many times it just happens behind the scenes... This shows dealer integrity.

I was at the garage to have a look of my new baby yesterday and notice it by myself!!!
The compensation is delivery tomorrow instead of Monday...

What trim did you order and what did you initially get?

The trim above the glovebox snaps in. The trim around the transmission also snaps in, but the Idrive and electronics to the left of the stick need to be carefully unscrewed, removed and replaced on the new trim.

The door pieces, believe it or not, are screwed in from the inside of the door panel, as well as having snap-in clips. At least that is how it is on my 2011 X3. So, the each door panel must be removed to replace the trim. Wish it was not so.

What we think is irrelevant. It's your car and your taste!

So technically i can buy with the plastic trim and change it later to carbon or wood as an after market with no issues?

Brushed Aluminum. I like it way better, the sienna is just too light for my liking, I also would take Dark wave brown, thats what I ordered for mines/

If I was in your shoes, I would not be happy, especially for waiting that long, and then for it to be mistake....

It looks plastic to me. Not a big fan, particularly not with black nevada leather. Get them to install brushed alu as ordered or refuse order. It's their fault, not yours

Yep, get what u ordered or u will spend the time u have the car telling people.." this isn't the trim I ordered..." I am a freak about them taking things apart inside the car though because of possible rattles, etc, but this is BMW, right? You should be fine.

Technically, it can be done, but the trim pieces are pricey and removing/replacing the interior door panels is not a job for a novice.

Order a new X3...

Don't settle if you want aluminum, get it replaced. Personally though I think it is too delicate.

OK, now this is different...
seeing that you are getting a "black-out" on the exterior as well as seats, then I think it is not that bad!!! It still gives you a good contrast... The Sienna is a lighter brown color which gives harmony to the black all around.. I see that you've also got black seats?!
So in general, I think it is still a good combination. It would have been a different story if you had other exterior colors...
So my suggestion is, change it only if it is easy to do and doesn't damage the car (maybe others who have experience with an actual replacement can comment here). But don't touch it otherwise. Afterall, with balck, it is still a good combination.
