I have an '07 non-sport package, panoramic sunroof, auto tranny.... and I need new rear coil springs. I was going to order:

LESJOFORS 42 084 50
(BMW 33 53 3 413 080)

Is this the correct part number? realoem.com doesn't break down the part number for my vehicle.

FYI, that part number is correct and the spring is easy to change once you have the rear up in the air and disconnect the shock.

I purchased a 2005 X3 3.0. It has 2 issues, both seem common to this truck.

I am trying to tackle the easy one first: Replacement of the rear coil springs. I would like to buy a pair of springs that most closely duplicates the OEM ride without paying $175 a side for the part.

The price range seems to be any where from about $60 for the no name brand to $90 to $120 for the Suplex/Lesjofors. I read a lot about Chinese steel and German made . . .

I am wondering what he consensus is regarding these parts. Which parts are best to duplicate the OEM ride and easiest for the DIY guy?

On a related note what parts house is best for this BMW? For my domestic vehicles I have had great success with Parts Geek, they have the Lesjofors for 109.99 and the Suplex for 93.90 with free UPS ground.

I would check all of the vendors plus ebay. You would not believe the difference vendor to vendor on prices. I purchased mine from ebay original springs. My car is a sport though so the springs are a little more. My stealership wanted $254 per side. I got them off of ebay from another BMW dealership for $182 for the pair. I literally took a couple of minutes to change. I recommend changing the top and lower rubber while you are at it. My dealership wanted a total of $1400 to change rear springs, lower controls. I did it in less then two hours and it cost me less then $400. Do not buy chinese junk!
