2012 X3 Cargo Box?
I picked up my car yesterday and decided to look in the cargo area. I found a net and the hooks for it along with some folding box thing. What is this box? It has velcro that will keep it upright but is not very tight. Nothing on the bottom of it to tie down. Seems weird?

In that case - who wants to buy it?! :-) I find it funny how BMW does so many pointless thing and yet misses huge on others.
I am not determined to find a use for it. I keep some tennis balls in my car for my dog maybe it can be his toy bin. |

actually, it works pretty well. it's watertight when velcro-d correctly, and if you flip the floor to the waterproof side, the box doesn't slide around.

Surprised by this thread. We've found it useful as well. Used it a couple times to bring potted plants home. Keeps the mess in the box and not in the cargo area.

I keep all of my cycling gear in there so I don't have water bottles, helmets, CO2 cartridges, and other crap rolling around. Works great and makes for fewer trips between the basement and garage.
