My corroded brake calipers....

.....were really annoying me, so spent around 3 hours yesterday sorting them. They previously looked like this...

and now they look like this...

And a quick picture of one of the rear brakes.

I did the job in situ, and just masked up the areas I didn't want to paint. I also painted the hubs as they were also looking tatty, so the car now looks spot on. With the wheels off, I also put some wheel wax on the inside of the rims so hopefully they'l be easier to clean next time.

Not exactly the nicest way to spend a Friday evening, but not bad results for less than a tenner.

Very nice job, they look great now! Did you use heat resisting silver paint?

Cheers, must admit I'm pretty pleased with myself - much better than paying someone else to do it.

Yes, I used heat resistant paint. It's specifically designed to be used on brakes, so I hope it lives up to it's claims.

I had bought some heat resistant matt black for mine, but I think I prefer silver having seen yours! Off to Halfords tomorrow!

Great touch! This drives me crazy too! Great detail only an enthusiast would notice!

It's not until you see these pics that you realise what a massive difference it makes. I'm tempted to get mine done at some stage now
