I'm going to code my X4 as well (mostly for video-in-motion and Euro Adaptive LED).
All I got was this OBD-2 Ethernet cable and the E-SYS software. There's quite a few how to's in the forum, so should be manageable. |

Great product btw. I would highly recommend it if ever you need a hitch for towing or a bike rack. GG |

Have you had it installed? Did you order straight from the US? Curious to see how it looks!

I am told it is, I have all the setup to try it, so when I get the car (end of April/early May) I will give it a go if no one else has tried it.

If you get really low, you can barely see the place where you attach safety chains. I am going to try and trim the rubber flap so that it doesn't show at all. |

Just thought I'd mention that the price includes the remote coding session, with free recodes if the dealer resets your coding, the Ethernet => OBD2 cable, a hitch adapter for bike racks, adapter to plug in the wiring of a trailer, the ball mount hitch adapter and the BMW OEM wiring harness, tax and shipping to northern NY state.
The OEM harness is like 300$ by itself so you can save some money there and get the generic one, but you lose some integration with the car by doing so. They also provide clear printed instructions for the installation with color pictures. The company itself is also really nice to deal with. Nice people there and they know their stuff. They were able to verify that the hitch would fit the M40i a month before my car was even built when there were none at dealerships. A real pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. They can ship it to Canada as well, however the shipping is more expensive and you will have to pay the duty on it as well. GG |

The company estimates 1.5 hours if you only need a bike rack as there is no wiring required. 2 hours if you need the wiring to be able to tow. The first estimate my salesman got from the service department was 5-6 hours.... That was when they thought I would pay for it.... I straight up told the salesman that the estimate they gave him was horseshit. I know what is involved in the installation and even I could do it quicker than that if I had the right equipment, all while having a couple of beers. In the end the salesman worked something out wi the service department and I got it for free. They never told me how long it really took. I will ask my service advisor and let you know. GG |
